Nachalat Binyamin

Adjacent to Shuk HaCarmel is Nachalat Binyamin, a pedestrian walkway that transforms into a lively arts and crafts market featuring the wares of over 200 artists and street performers from 10am to 5pm on Tuesdays and Fridays.  Artists must be present at their stalls, which correspond to one of the street’s numbers, and they are required to produce original handmade works in order to be approved by the public committee that administers the fair.  The artisan goods range from ceramic and glass items to eccentric jewelry, paintings and photographs to Judaica items, marionettes to hand puppets, leather wallets to lunch bags made of coffee containers and chocolate wrappers.  It’s worth checking out if you’re visiting Tel Aviv, even if you don’t plan to purchase anything.
