They say one man’s junk is another man’s treasure—if you’re looking to find a random, unexpected treasure, Shuk HaPishpishim (Yafo/Jaffa Flea Market) is definitely the right place to start hunting.  Just a stone’s throw away from the Yafo Clock Tower, between Jerusalem Boulevard and Yeffet Street, is Shuk HaPishpishim, an outdoor flea market that’s open Sundays to Thursdays from 10am to 6pm and Fridays 10am to 2pm.  A sense of mayhem pervades the market as people haggle for unique fabrics, antique furniture, Persian rugs, kitchen appliances, eccentric slippers, new socks, old satchels, and countless other miscellaneous knick knacks.  The nearby streets are lined with cute cafes, tempting bakeries, and posh bars and restaurants, all excellent post-market destinations.
